The ascent isn't really unpolished, most of the Tainted characters are fully complete, and most of the problem ones are just unbalanced, not unfinished with really only the exception of Tainted Laz. The Witness's zoomed out fight was cut because the engine wasn't built for it and it was buggy as в™Ґв™Ґв™Ґв™Ґ, Killburn had to do technical wizardry to get it working in the first place and it wasn't worth the effort. Not to mention the new alt floors not in Antibirth, along with all their new enemies and bosses, tons of new items not from Antibirth, etc. AB+ had one new character, but Repentance has 17 brand new ones not even counting the original Bethany and Jacob+Esau. Also, Repentance is absolutely much bigger than 'Afterbirth+' in size even if you ignore the original Antibirth content. So stop blaming him for literally everything.

Where were those 3+ years spent on?Д®dmund wasn't the one who decided to cut a lot of that content, Killburn/Vinh, Antibirth's designer was the guy who decided to cut most of that missing Antibirth content. What reason is there to remove all of this, Edmund? The worst part about all of this is how over 20+ enemies have been cut and therefore their respective antibirth rooms that they spawn in are also gone, which lowers the diversity of room generation, which is absolutely abysmal in Repentance, so many repeating rooms and so little diversity in the new floors. Not to mention immortal hearts, antibirth runes, and some co-op babies. Tainted characters are missing their mechanics, unlocks are broken, Birthright is missing some of it's abilities, and a few bosses have been cut.
